About this place
The House of Prayer of Merciful Jesus is a Catholic retreat and prayer facility in Nam-myeon, Hongcheon. The Catholic Directory of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Korea lists it among the retreat and prayer houses of the Diocese of Chuncheon and identifies the Society of the Catholic Apostolate, commonly known as the Pallottines, as the religious institute responsible for it. Unlike a parish church, it does not exercise territorial pastoral jurisdiction; its basic character is that of a spiritual place for prayer and retreat.
The public official directory does not describe detailed programs or schedules, but it clearly identifies the facility as a retreat and prayer house within the diocese and names the community responsible for it. It is therefore most accurately understood as a Catholic place of prayer entrusted to the Pallottines. Because retreat programs and access arrangements may change, practical details should be checked separately before a visit.
