About this place
The Society of the Catholic Apostolate (Pallottines) community in Nam-myeon, Hongcheon, is listed in the Catholic Directory of Korea as the “Divine Mercy Chapel / Retreat House,” a male religious community within the Diocese of Chuncheon. Unlike an ordinary parish church, its defining character is that of a spiritual place combining a chapel and retreat function with the common life of Pallottine priests.
The Society of the Catholic Apostolate was founded by St. Vincent Pallotti; the Catholic Directory of Korea records its foundation in 1835 and its arrival in Korea in 1990. The Hongcheon site is one of the congregation’s communities in Korea and serves prayer and spiritual renewal through its Divine Mercy chapel and retreat facilities. Because specific retreat schedules and access arrangements can change, the place is best understood through its verified identity and functions rather than through time-sensitive program details.
