About this place
Bongpyeong Sacred Heart Seedbed is a retreat and prayer house within the Diocese of Chuncheon, operated under the responsibility of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart. The Korean Catholic Directory and the congregation’s official website identify the same facility and describe it as a place in the natural surroundings of Bongpyeong, Pyeongchang, for retreats, prayer, confession, and spiritual conversation.
Its distinctive character is that retreatants do more than stay overnight: they can spend time in prayer and liturgy close to the religious life of the priests who live there. The main building includes a church, a confessional, retreat rooms, and a dining area, while an annex also contains a small chapel. The central purpose of the house is to help individuals and small groups step away from ordinary routines and enter a period of silence, prayer, and reflection.
