About this place
Goesan Catholic Church is the church of Goesan Parish in the Central District of the Diocese of Cheongju, and its patron is the Holy Spirit. Centered on Goesan-eup, it forms the Central District together with Gwanghyewon, Jincheon, Jeungpyeong, Cheongcheon, and other parishes. Current diocesan information includes Masses at Gomari and Chilseong Mission Stations within the schedule of Goesan Parish, showing that the parish church serves as a pastoral center connected with surrounding mission communities.
A defining feature of Goesan Parish is its relationship not only with the church in the town center but also with mission stations spread across the wider rural area. Gomari Mission Station in particular has a notable history as a former independent parish and today continues under Goesan Parish. Goesan Catholic Church is therefore both the place where local Catholics gather for Mass and the sacraments and the center of a pastoral network that connects Catholic communities across the Goesan area.
