Buheung Mission Station is a mission station of the Diocese of Cheongju in Cheongan-myeon, Goesan-gun, and today continues its Catholic life under Cheongcheon Parish. The Korean Catholic Directory identifies Cheongcheon as its mother parish, and the Diocese of Cheongju’s current liturgical information for Cheongcheon confirms that Mass is regularly celebrated at Buheung. Within a broad rural pastoral territory spanning the Cheongcheon and Cheongan areas, the mission station allows local Catholics to participate in liturgy and prayer without always traveling to the parish church.

Although small in scale, Buheung functions as an actual liturgical base linked to Cheongcheon Parish. A regional study of religious history even treats “Buheung Mission Station of Cheongcheon Catholic Church” as a separate topic, indicating that it is recognized as part of the Catholic history of Goesan. Publicly available sources, however, do not provide enough verified information to establish when the station was first founded, how the earliest Catholic community formed, or how its building changed over time. The sources currently available are nevertheless sufficient to show clearly that this remains a living local mission-station community linked to Cheongcheon Parish through actual liturgical life.
