About this place
Baekgok Catholic Church is a parish church in the Jungbu District of the Diocese of Cheongju and serves as the pastoral center for the Catholic community of Baekgok-myeon, Jincheon. The diocese’s current parish directory names Blessed Paul O Ban-ji as its patron, and the parish is a local center for Mass, the sacraments, catechesis, and Catholic community life.
Baekgok-myeon is also home to Baetti Martyrs’ Shrine, but Baekgok Catholic Church has a distinct identity as a territorial parish. It should therefore be understood not as an annex of the shrine, but as the parish church responsible for the ordinary faith life of Catholics in the Baekgok area.
