About this place
This site is the Busan community of the Fraternity of the Little Sisters of Jesus, listed in the Guide to the Catholic Church in Korea as a women’s religious community in the Diocese of Busan. The congregation’s official English name is The Fraternity of the Little Sisters of Jesus, and the house in Chojang-dong is not a parish church but a local community where the Little Sisters live their religious life.
Following the spirituality of Saint Charles de Foucauld, the Little Sisters of Jesus have regarded a contemplative life among ordinary people, especially close to the poor and marginalized, as a central part of their vocation. Their way of life is centered on the Eucharist and prayer while seeking to make the Gospel present through daily work and relationships with neighbors. The Busan community can therefore be understood as a small fraternity that continues this spirituality in the midst of ordinary local life.
