The original foundation document for Samyang Mission Station was not found in this research, but in May 1991 the Catholic Times reported that the Samyang (Nammyong) Mission Station of Miryang Parish held a celebration for its “40th anniversary.” This shows that a mission community had been sustained in the Samyang area since at least the mid-twentieth century. It would, however, be unsafe to calculate a precise foundation date solely from the anniversary wording in that article.

The 40th-anniversary event included a Mass of thanksgiving, the unveiling of a new signboard, and a community gathering attended by parishioners and Catholics from nearby mission stations. The report also noted the rural reality that many young people had moved to cities, leaving the mission station quieter than before. Even so, its praise for believers who had preserved the mission community for more than forty years, and the participation of Miryang Parish and neighboring mission stations, show that Samyang remained part of a broader local Catholic network.

Samyang is still listed today as a mission station of the Diocese of Busan in the Catholic directory. Read together, the 1991 anniversary record and the current official listing present a history of a small center of faith maintained despite demographic change and the shrinking of rural communities. The historical meaning of the place lies less in an elaborate building chronology than in the continuity of local believers who kept the mission station alive.
