About this place
The Busan convent of the Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco, also known as the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, is a women's religious community located within the Diocese of Busan. The Directory of the Catholic Church in Korea lists this community with the affiliated name “Busan Convent,” and gives the congregation's official English name as Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco (Daughters of Mary Help of Christians: F.M.A.). It is therefore best understood as a religious community rather than as a parish or an ordinary parish church.
The community is significant as a local house of the Salesian Sisters active in Korea. The congregation itself was founded in 1872 and entered Korea in 1957, while the Busan convent is officially recorded as a religious community continuing that tradition in the Busan area. For visitors, the essential point is that this is not an independent parish but a community space for sisters living the consecrated life.
