About this place
Jangsan Catholic Church is the center of Jangsan Parish in the Udong District of the Diocese of Busan, where Catholics in the Banyeo area of Haeundae-gu continue their community life around Mass and the sacraments. The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Korea directory lists Jangsan as a parish of the Diocese of Busan and identifies the Body and Blood of Christ as its patronal mystery. More important than the parish name or the church building itself is its present identity as a local Church community entrusted with the liturgy, faith formation, fellowship, and pastoral care of Catholics in a defined area.
The patronal mystery of the Body and Blood of Christ gives particular expression to the central place of the Eucharist in Catholic faith. For Jangsan Parish, this patronal dedication is an important spiritual sign for understanding a community that gathers around the Mass. Visitors can therefore understand Jangsan Catholic Church not simply as a religious facility, but as a parish of the Diocese of Busan in the Banyeo living area, where Catholics continue their faith and form a Church community around the Word and the Eucharist.
