About this place
Oksan Catholic Church is a parish of the Sangju District in the Diocese of Andong, serving Catholics in Gongseong-myeon and the surrounding rural area through Mass, the sacraments, catechesis, and parish community life. The Catholic Directory of Korea records St. Joseph as its patron and lists two mission stations under the parish. The current parish directory of the Diocese of Andong also identifies Oksan as a parish of the Sangju District.
As a rural parish, Oksan has particular significance in linking the parish church with smaller mission communities. It provides a common pastoral center through which Catholics in Gongseong-myeon and nearby mission stations can share liturgy, formation, and fellowship as one parish community. Its dedication to St. Joseph and its responsibility for mission stations are central to understanding the parish's present Catholic identity.
